State-owned utility service provider, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has organized “Innovation Week 2022” at the Innovation Tent at its headquarters, as part of the UAE Innovates 2022.
DEWA will also organize Innovation Week 2022 at some of its branches from 22 to 28 February 2022. The Authority reviews its latest and most prominent innovations in solar and renewable energy as well as digital services in addition to technologies it developed to use Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies to comprehensively promote its position as a prominent utility.
DEWA works according to the directives of the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces to invest in innovation and provide a motivating work environment for innovation.
“We are also training Emiratis to keep up with rapid changes and developments to shape the future of the UAE over the next 50 years and help it become the world’s leading nation by its Centennial in 2071. DEWA is supporting Dubai’s progress to shape the future by changing the traditional ways we work and adopting a solid business approach. This is part of the Dubai 10X initiative which mandates the Government of Dubai supports Dubai’s progress to lead the way to the future and make it 10 years ahead of other cities. This is being done through government innovation and redefining the traditional work mechanisms, as part of its vision to become a globally leading sustainable innovative corporation.”
Mr. Al Tayer also added that the Innovation Week 2022, which is held in conjunction with Expo 2020 Dubai, offers an opportunity for millions of visitors to learn about DEWA’s innovative initiatives as well as the innovations of government and federal entities. Further, it shows the wise leadership’s efforts to promote government innovation and public-private collaboration as well as academic institutions in innovating sustainable solutions to ensure a brighter future for current and future generations.
DEWA is committed to Expo 2020 Dubai’s themes in promoting sustainability and innovation especially since DEWA is the Official Sustainable Energy Partner of the event. The Authority has also participated in the UAE Innovates Exhibition organized by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation (MBRCGI) at the Festival Garden in Expo 2020 Dubai.
