As tourists returned to Dubai, one of the city’s most famous landmarks greeted them with a message.
Burj Khalifa, the world’s highest tower, introduced a new greeting into its light show on July 7, the day it was possible for foreign tourists to return to the Emirates.
On the Downtown Dubai building the words “Welcome to Dubai” were illuminated in English and Arabic.

Dubai has reopened its borders to international tourists this week after being closed to travelers since March.
The event was marked with tourists being given a special sticker upon arrival at Dubai International Airport. The immigration officials at the airport had stuck a stamp reading “a warm welcome to your second home” on passports.
The initiative by the Residency and Foreign Affairs Directorate-General is intended to make travelers and residents returning to the UAE feel welcome.
As Dubai airports reopen, the emirate’s hotels and tourist attractions also look forward to welcoming tourists once again.
The Burj Khalifa also reopened its observation deck in late May.
Currently, only one form of the ticket is available to track the number of visitors to the landmark, the $26 entry card, which allows access to the 124th and 125th floors.
Tourists are required to wear masks and practice social distance. Following its impressive success in curbing the spread of COVID-19, the emirate reopened to visitors on 7th July. It had received the Safe Travels Stamp from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) a week before the reopening date, which validates the city’s stringent global hygiene and safety protocols to ensure tourist and passenger health and safety.
