The world’s first Bear Grylls Explorers Camp (BGEC) is coming to the UAE’s highest mountain Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah next month.
Bear Grylls, a world-famous adventurer and TV host of famous shows such as ‘World’s Toughest Race’, ‘Running Wild’, ‘You Vs Wild’ and ‘Man Vs Wild’ which are focused on survival skills in the wild.
After the opening of the Bear Grylls Survival Academy (BGSA) in the UK, the RAK Leisure will launch Grylls’ globally renowned survival skill courses to the Middle East for the first time in a camp near to the Via Ferrata on Jebel Jais mountains.
The BGEC will teach the participants practical and extreme survival techniques starting from making a fire in the wilderness, building emergency shelters, the best ways to use a knife for survival as well as remote medical trauma treatment, navigation techniques and extreme weather survival skills.
The survival courses are guided by the experts who were trained from the BGSA and include a half-day (3 to 4 hours), eight and 24-hour training designed for adults, families and corporate team building activities. A 48-hour instructor course for adventure enthusiasts will be introduced in the future.
The Grylls branded stay, a 20 container accommodation will open in 2021, allowing a host and three guests to stay overnight and to give the enthusiasts an adventurous mountain experience. This will include basic self-catering, including a private BBQ on a private outdoor terrace to prepare the meals.

The camp will be operated by following the global safety measures including the social distancing, hygiene as well as the health and well-being of participants will be ensured by the professionally trained instructors throughout the session.
