Bauer Foundation Contractors, the Saudi unit of the Germany-based construction company Bauer, has secured two construction work contracts for ‘The Line’, a 170-km belt of hyper-connected future communities without cars and roads and built around nature, being developed within Saudi Arabia’s futuristic city Neom.
This big win for Saudi Bauer Foundation Contractors follows a specialist foundation engineering project contract, which it had secured from Neom in August, involving the installation of 70-m-deep large-diameter bored piles for The Line. All contracts are part of a three-year framework agreement, within which further projects are expected for the Bauer Group.
“The Neom megacity is currently the talk of the town and one of the world’s most impressive construction projects. Shortly before the successful completion of the first contract, we are pleased to have the confidence of the client to execute further project sections. In total, the Bauer Group has received new projects worth $138 million in recent weeks. This means that the order backlog in the construction segment remains at a record level.”
A leading provider of services, equipment and products dealing with ground and groundwater, Bauer Group said the follow-up contracts will also involve the construction of 70m deep large-diameter bored piles up to 2.5 m in diameter.
Neon’s latest launch, The Line, when completed, will have a length of 170 km and accommodate nine million people.
Earlier this year, Bauer Foundation Contractors completed work on the iconic bridge to Shurayrah Island, as well as two smaller bridges within the Saudi Red Sea Islands Project.
