Batelco, part of the Beyon Group, has signed a partnership agreement with the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications and Bahrain Public Transport Company, operator of Bahrain public buses, in order to provide a new channel for recharging Go cards.
The agreement was signed by HE Eng. Hussain Ali Yaqoob, Assistant Undersecretary for Land Transportation, Ms. Aseel Matar, General Manager of Consumer at Batelco, and Mr. Robert Conway, General Manager of Bahrain Public Transport Company.
Through this agreement, Batelco will offer a new channel to recharge Go cards, allowing its Prepaid and Lucky customers to top-up their cards via SMS text message.
By launching this service, new and existing Batelco and Lucky customers will be able to recharge their Go cards by using the balance available in their Prepaid accounts.
According to the statement, “New customers may visit any Batelco or Lucky branch to sign up and get a Go card with two free trips. The recharge process is simple, customers only need to send an SMS with the required amount for the Bus fee along with their Go card number to 88188.”
Ms. Aseel Mattar said that, “Batelco is keen to deliver more value for its Prepaid customers by adding new convenient services. We are proud to be the first and the only telecom company in Bahrain to offer this new channel to top up the Go card.”
“We always aim to provide our customers with services and solutions that will make their lives easier, and with this exclusive service we are enabling them to use their Prepaid lines not only for communication purposes but to also conduct other transactions,” Ms. Mattar further added.
