One of the leading government-owned banks in Bahrain, Eskan Bank has received nine bids from top contractors in response to the request for proposals (RFP) for the construction of three community projects in the kingdom.
Eskan Bank intends to develop a single-storey building featuring shops, service areas in three areas across the kingdom. The scope of work includes the development of 22 commercial outlets across Bahrain
The three developments include a 237.7 square meter (sq m) of land in North East Muharraq for setting up four shops with a total built-up area of 274 sq m, a 612.55 sq m land in Samaheej for nine shops with a total built-up area of 675 sq m and a 525 sq m land in Zallaq for setting up nine shops with a total built-up area of 585 sq m.
According to Bahrain Tender Board, the bidding was open to only firms who had carried out projects with the construction value of $795,720 and above during the last three years. On the criteria for the contractors, it stated that Esklan Bank preferred contractors who are prequalified and registered with the Ministry of Housing under Grade D and above and the Ministry of Works under Grade D and above construction projects.
The nine bids include Insha contracting with a bid amount of $1.18 million, Contratech with $1.67 million, Sayed Kadhem Al Durazi & Sons with $1.18 million, Eastern Asphalt & Mixed Concrete Company with $1.59 million, Al Shaheen Contracting with $1.21 million, Zaedon Building Construction with $1.23 million, Saraya Contractors Company with $1.12 million, Jahecon with $1 million and Sarab Contracting Company with $927,809.
