Bahrain-based Alosra supermarket has rolled out a local entrepreneurship support program ‘Mahali’ as part of its ‘Think Local’ initiative that was introduced in 2011 to support regional producers, businesses and the community.
The high-end supermarket group is now taking its support program to a whole new level by joining forces with the upcoming Bahraini entrepreneurs who are seeking support for their business expansion.
‘Mahali’, which means ‘local’ or ‘my place’ in Arabic, aims to nurture small businesses and help them towards getting their products to the public through Alosra’s stores.
The support program will help selected participants to develop their entrepreneurial leadership skills, provide access to funding up to a total of $13,200. Further, the budding businesses will be given free access to the shelf space at Alosra supermarket to display their products.
The Bharani supermarket group is inviting all upcoming entrepreneurs in the country who are 18 years old and above and owns a legally registered business to apply to the ‘Mahali’ program and take their startup products to the next level.
The interested startup owners can get all the details regarding the program including its benefits and criteria in the application form, which can be accessed through QR scanning at Alosra outlets, social media channels, official website and mobile application.
“Alosra is proud to introduce this latest program in line with its longstanding commitment to supporting all things local. As a Bahraini-owned supermarket, we are continuously committed to extending our support to local producers, entrepreneurs and the community,” said Jaffar Al Asfoor, General Manager of Alosra.
“We are proud to create an opportunity for local entrepreneurs to receive this support and provide them with guidance and mentorship where needed. Bahrainis who have a great consumer product can now see it on our shelves. We are looking forward to working with these entrepreneurs and supporting them on their journey.”
