Bahrain’s 6 startups chosen for Riyada Accelerator Program

Bahrain Labour Fund (Tamkeen) and Salica Investments, an international investment firm formerly known as Hambro Perks, have revealed the list of six Bahraini startups selected for the first cohort of the Riyada Business Accelerator Program.

The program seeks to support the startups by providing them comprehensive and customized structure centering on key pillars including innovation, funding strategy, mentorship and strategic collaboration. This initiative is set to enhance Bahrain’s position as a regional startup hub.

Out of 85 applications, only 14 startups were initially chosen for a ramp-up phase, which provided invaluable guidance and support to refine their technologies, product offerings, and business strategies. Following this stage, six standout startups were then chosen for the first cohort of the Riyada Business Accelerator Program.

The selected startups include four female-led startups, this highlights the diversity and inclusivity within Bahrain’s startup ecosystem. The startups represent a range of tech-related industries such as education, e-sports, travel, showing the exceptional breadth of innovation and expertise.

The six selected startups are:

ArabiQuest by Aqeela Allahyari: An Arabic language learning app crafted for children aged 2-8. The app focuses on polishing the speaking skills through engaging and effective approach.

Indiesouq by Eman Sabah: A crowdfunding platform designed for content creators and filmmakers. The platform provides unique investment opportunities as well as features like fund release percentage, milestone-based disbursement and film insurance.

Numuw by Ingy Alireza: Numuw is a platform that facilitates collaboration between families, schools and specialists. The platform provides compliant solutions, a global network of certified experts, secure video conferencing, and comprehensive practice management tools, promising accessible and effective therapy management.

ProCode by Rami Jamal and Shahad Alzaki: An eSports platform tailored for gamers, providing educational resources, personalized coaching and community engagement to enhance the skills of gamers and to help them succeed in the competitive gaming industry.

Sellou, by Salman Alkhalifa: Video-selling Ad-Tech platform that help users connect directly with potential buyers by posting short videos. Users can link their videos to their preferred communication modes, such as Whatsapp.

Travilege, by Salman Almarzooq: A B2B2C ERP SaaS platform that digitizes and automates operation for travel agencies, tour operators and event organizers. The platform aims to empower businesses by providing them exceptional travel experiences.
