Axiom Space, the leading space infrastructure developer, has teamed up with Burjeel Holdings PLC, a premier super-specialty healthcare services provider in MENA region.

The partnership aims to conduct science research and test new technologies in space, expanding access to microgravity for medical advancements. The signing ceremony, took place at the Burjeel Institute for Global Health in New York, was attended by Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Founder and Chairman of Burjeel Holdings, and Mr. John Sunil, CEO of Burjeel Holdings.

Under the partnership, Axiom Space and Burjeel are set to send a suite of medical capabilities to space with a focus on advancing science research on how the human body reacts in microgravity. The suite features top technologies used in hospitals and clinics around the world, including Burjeel Holdings’ flagship facility Burjeel Medical City (BMC).

The research aims to study the impact of microgravity environment on biomarkers, drug substance quality, and remote health services. Axiom Space astronaut(s) intend to wear and operate these technologies remotely throughout their training, launch, and during Axiom Mission 4, which is expected to launch next spring.
