AVEVA, a global leader in engineering, industrial software, and International Maritime Industries (IMI), announced that they have extended their existing long-term collaboration with a new strategic partnership to develop best-in-class products and services for the maritime sector in the Middle East and Africa (MEA).
The new joint venture, which includes Saudi Aramco, UAE’s Lamprell Plc, Bahri, and Hyundai Heavy Industries, will use AVEVA Unified Engineering and AVEVA Digital Ship and Shipyard Operations to improve digitization across the maritime lifecycle over a period of 10 years.
IMI is driving an accelerated and sophisticated digital program to ensure that it can begin yard operations using the most cutting-edge technology advancements by 2023. This will enable IMI to deliver agile and efficient new-build project execution, a connected, digitally empowered workforce to ensure safe and effective ship production, and a smart linked shipyard to continually optimize its facility’s operating efficiency.
All parties in the partnership will work together to improve digital transformation for IMI’s core business processes and facilities. AVEVA and IMI will also work together to drive futuristic developments and co-innovation in new technologies, such as digital solutions and services for the maritime industry.
