Arada, the Sharjah-based real estate developer, has awarded two contracts together valued at $32 million at Masaar, the $2.2 billion richly forested megaprojects located in the Suyoh district of Sharjah.
Both contracts will develop the infrastructure and landscape for two areas of Masaar, including the central precinct around the Masaar Experience Center, which will host a number of visitor attractions, and the buffer zone that runs around the edge of the community, featuring professional sports facilities set in a woodland area.
Al Marwan General Contracting Company, a Sharjah-based contractor who has previously worked with Arada on projects, was granted the $20.4 million contract for infrastructure work in Masaar’s central precinct and buffer zone. Al Qalamoon Garden Designers, also located in Sharjah, won the $11.6 million contract for landscape work in the same Masaar areas.

The works on central precinct of Masaar are scheduled to be completed at the end of this April, in time for the opening of the Masaar Experience Center in June. When finished, the space will include a children’s adventure playground, a skate park, an outdoor amphitheater and Zad, the popular food district already present in Arada’s sister community Aljada.
In addition, the landscaped and forested precinct will also feature the hub for the 13-kilometer cycling network in Masaar, which contains rental, retail and repair facilities.
The awards are the latest in a series of contract wins at Masaar, which include the contracts to build the Masaar Experience Center and the show villa, as well as the infrastructure design contract, and the supervision services contract for the first residential phase of Masaar, Sendian District. The main construction contract for Sendian District will be awarded in March.
With eight gated districts containing 4,000 villas and townhouses, Masaar’s signature feature is a ‘green spine’ containing 50,000 trees. Launched in January 2021, Masaar is conveniently located near Tilal City, the Sharjah Mosque and Nasma Residences, Arada’s debut project.
