The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), a government organization based in Sao Paulo, has started discussions to boost relations with Kuwait.
The ABCC Secretary-General, Mr. Tamer Mansour and the Regional Advisor for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, Iraq and Yemen, Mr. Shaheen Ali Shaheen were on a mission to Kuwait this week to commence discussions. One of the meetings was already held with Mr. Rabah Abdel Rahman Al Rabah, Director-General of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
“We discussed making a common agenda for 2022. We started by inviting them to the Economic Forum Brazil & Arab Countries and holding a business mission to Kuwait in the second half of the year,” Mr. Mansour said.
During the visit, the ABCC executives and Kuwait’s authorities also discussed various topics including the opportunities available for Brazil to cooperate with Kuwait’s food security and several ways to boost investments in both countries. The executives of the Brazilian institution also discussed cultural activities with Kuwait’s Council for Culture, Arts and Letters.
The ABCC’s Secretary-General and Advisor met Mr. Bader Al Darwish, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, as well as Mr. Mohammad bin Redha, Cultural International Relations Director. Topics discussed included activities between Kuwait and the ABCC’s cultural branch, the Arab House.
ABCC is also planning to hold a special edition of the Economic Forum Brazil & Arab Countries in July. “We discussed how to hold joint and virtual activities within the Arab House. And extended an invitation in person for them to join the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Chamber next July,” Mr. Mansour added.
Mr. Mansour and Mr. Shaheen also met Mr. Mohamed Youssef Mulla Yaqoub, Assistant Director of Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA). “We talked about the importance of boosting investment relations between both countries and what are the opportunities in Kuwait and Brazil,” Mr. Mansour said.
