Amazon unit launches AED1m initiative to help start-ups in UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt

Amazon-owned Payfort will spend up to $272k to support its start-up and small business clients battered by harder economic circumstances created by the coronavirus pandemic.  

The #StartUpStayUp initiative will include a three-month digital marketing campaign promoting more than 100 of its customers’ businesses across a number of media channels. These comprise of organic, paid and influencer social media campaigns, video content production, email marketing campaigns and internal marketing promotions.

The new drive strives to support companies by boosting traffic on their websites, driving more sales. The Dubai-based financial technology firm said that the campaign will be started in the UAE before being extended to Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

The firm has teamed up with Emirates NBD bank in the UAE, Commercial International Bank in Egypt and Saudi British Bank in Saudi Arabia to support the campaign through customized messages to a targeted audience.
