Alba and Daiki Aluminum to enhance sustainable aluminum industry

Aluminum Bahrain (Alba), the world’s largest aluminum smelter, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Daiki Aluminium Industry Company, the prominent aluminum product manufacturer in Japan.

The agreement aims to develop a sustainable aluminum dross processing plant in Bahrain. This partnership will strengthen the Bahrain-Japan economic partnership and also pave the way for innovative advancements in sustainable aluminum production. With advanced technologies, the aluminum dross processing facility will recover valuable aluminum metal as well as reduce waste.

Ali Al Baqali, Alba’s CEO; Hisham Al Kooheji, Acting Chief Marketing Officer, and Alba’s Executive Management Team, Yamamoto Takaaki, Chairman and Representative Director of Daiki Aluminium, Goto Kazushi, Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer, Fukushima Toshitake, Vice General Manager of Overseas Business Coordination Department, were present at the signing ceremony that took place at Alba premises.

By combining Alba’s industry-leading expertise and Daiki Aluminium’s advanced technologies, this collaboration intends to support the environmental goals of Bahrain while aligning with Alba’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Roadmap. The partnership is primarily focused on supporting the circular economy.
