The Abu Dhabi Business Centre (ADBC) at the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) has added 30 new activities to the Freelancer License, enhancing Abu Dhabi’s economic environment.
This expansion aims to provide a diverse range of business opportunities to strengthen the economic sector by encouraging entrepreneurship and facilitating business establishment at minimal cost. With these 30 new additions, the Freelance Professional License includes a total of 100 different activities.
The Freelance Professional License plays a significant role in harnessing the vast knowledge and expertise of professionals. It allows them to provide their specialized services to organizations, institutions, companies and individuals. This step will boost the Emirate’s economy, strengthen its diversity and speed up its pace towards an innovation-driven economy.
ADDED announced several activities as a part of its commitment to contribute to the digital transformation. ADDED’s activities will cover various areas including, Artificial Intelligence (AI) development, Electronic Equipment and Devices Systems and Software Designing, Oil and Natural Gas Fields Production Software Design, Data Classification and Analysis Services, Development and Innovation in Computer Systems and Programs, Production Models by 3D Imaging, and Online Players Support Service Providers.

In order to be eligible for the license, the applicant must have experience in either a specific field or have secured an academic/professional achievement in the field. ADDED has already established regulatory framework, work rules and general requirements.
