Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has garnered 21 international awards from prestigious international institutions in 2024, highlighting its commitment to innovation and driving the strategic goals of the agricultural sector.
ADAFSA won the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) award, an initiative by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) of the United Nations, in the business category for its dedication to innovation and implementation of the Food Imports and Exports Platform (FIEMIS). The project was also honored with esteemed Globee International Business Award.
The authority earned an award for Innovation in Government Publications for its atlas of camel diseases. ADAFSA received Water Positive Achievement Award from the International Desalination and Reuse Association (IDRA) for its pioneering project that focused on water recycling and fostering non-conventional water resources.
The Zadna Rating Project was recognized as one of the top 20 Global Projects in the SDG Digital GameChangers Awards, organised by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
ADAFSA’s Smart Extension Programme Digitisation project secured the Stevie Gold Award in Innovation in Technology Management, Planning & Implementation category, presented by the Stevie Awards Middle East and North Africa programme.
The authority’s Agriculture and Food Security Data Platform earned three regional and local awards. ADAFSA received the Arab Digital Government Award in the Government Innovation category, awarded by the International Excellence Foundation (IEF). Additionally, it received two awards within the ICMG Global Awards: ICMG Architecture Awards of Excellence in Agriculture and IT-Artificial Intelligence Enabled Solution.
ADAFSA has also secured AgriNext Award, a global platform that recognizes excellence in agricultural technology, showcasing innovations, and fostering collaboration.
ADAFSA garnered two awards: the first one recognized Women in Agricultural Excellence. The second award acknowledged ADAFSA’s Excellence in Agriculture Advancement, reflecting its proactive leadership in biosecurity emergency response and management.
The authority was also honored with three Global ESG Awards, which recognizes institutions that foster sustainable development and seek to drive the sustainability agenda and low-carbon transition for public and private organizations.
ADAFSA received an award in the Terrestrial Biodiversity Conservation category for its pioneering honey project, in addition to an award in the Sustainable Community City and Green Buildings category. It also secured an award in the Education and Awareness Programmes category for its community awareness initiatives.
ADAFSA took home two World Business Outlook Awards for its programs and initiatives in communication and community engagement services through the categories of Leading Community Service Initiative Programme and Most Sustainable Agriculture and Food World Developer.
The authority’s Fodder Market Platform Programme won the Excellence in Customer Service Award for Best Customer Service Delivery, presented by the Intelligence Awards Group.
The Golden Bridge Awards’ gold category was awarded to ADAFSA for its Smart Inspection Programme in the Best New Service category. This program highlights ADAFSA’s commitment to elevating food monitoring systems and devices.
The authority also earned two Global Brand Awards in the Leading Agricultural Sustainability Initiative category for the Together Blessings Last program, as well as the Excellence in Agricultural Innovation category for ADAFSA’s excellence programs.
ADAFSA excelled in that Al Marai Award for Veterinary Medicine, with Dr Hamda Khalfan Al Alawi receiving the Best Distinguished Veterinarian Award for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
