The Saudi Export Development Authority (Saudi Exports) has hosted the Saudi-Iraqi trade mission in Jeddah, focused on strengthening Saudi exports and the global competitiveness of Saudi products.
The event gathered 55 companies from Saudi Arabia and Iraq, along with entities such as the Saudi Export-Import (EXIM) Bank and the National Bank of Iraq. The goal of the mission is to enhance trade relations between the two nations, expand trade volume, and support Saudi exporters to tap into the Iraqi market.
The mission featured an introductory workshop highlighting free markets and opportunities for exporters, as well as a session by the Saudi Export-Import Bank that emphasizes its financing and credit services.
During field visits, Iraqi delegation explored the export capabilities, efficiency, and quality of Saudi products. The mission also included business matching meetings, providing a platform for Saudi exporters to connect and forge meaningful trade partnerships with Iraqi companies.
Thamer Almishrafi, Saudi Exports spokesperson, stressed that the trade mission highlights the authority’s commitment to enhancing Saudi-Iraqi trade relations and providing Saudi exporters with access to promising regional markets.
Almishrafi also noted that the mission seeks to highlight export opportunities, foster productive trade partnerships, and reinforce Saudi Exports’ commitment to creating platforms that enhance the global footprint of Saudi products.
Furthermore, Almishrafi stated that the mission supports the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to boost non-oil exports and diversify income sources for the national economy. By bridging the gap between exporters and potential buyers, the initiative drives growth in Saudi non-oil exports, contributing to a thriving and competitive global market.
