As 2024 – the new year of opportunity is arriving, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, has shared a video on social media of some of the major achievements of the UAE in the past 365 days.
The video, captioned “What a nation can achieve in 365 days?”, highlights significant events and socio-economic achievements that UAE throughout the year 2023, which will be ending in nearly 2 month.

The list of achievements include;
Expo 2020 Dubai
Expo 2020 Dubai, which recorded a remarkable milestone of more than 24 million visitors, was the largest global gathering of mankind since the beginning of the pandemic, a tremendous success that made history against obstacles. 192 countries came together at the Expo to showcase the best that their nations can offer, combining unparalleled cultural, educational and recreational experiences.
Museum of the Future
An architectural marvel in the heart of Dubai, this 77-metre tall iconic landmark is the largest platform in the region, inaugurated in February 2022, to study, envision and design the future, helping convene talents from across science, technology, research and innovation verticals.
Non-Oil Trade Growth
In the backdrop of global economic slowdown, non-oil trade registered an impressive 17 percent growth. UAE has achieved an impossible feat by reaching $600 billion.
Unprecedented tourism
Many thought it is impossible to welcome 25 million tourists post-COVID. However, the United Arab Emirates shines with a warm welcome to millions of visitors.
Top Global Development Indicators
Proving its prowess on a global scale, the UAE has emerged as a leader by topping 186 global development indicators.
UAE Passport strength
The UAE passport became the strongest passport in a new historic achievement and is now ranked first globally. The UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, surpassed all expectations following the accomplishment.
The UAE passport was ranked No. 1 by Passport Index, an interactive online tool that provides users with insights on passports enabling them to compare and rate passports of different nations. The ranking is based on freedom of movement and visa-free travel for passport holders.
1 Billion Meals
The “1 Billion Meals Endowment” campaign launched a food endowment fund at a value of AED 1 billion ($272 million). The campaign aims to help the vulnerable communities in dozens of countries around the world, during the holy month of Ramadan.
Arab Reading Challenge
The “Arab Reading Challenge”, the largest Arab project to encourage students in the Arab world to read, with more than a million students committing to read 50 million extracurricular books during every academic year.
Torchbearer of Clean Energy initiatives
UAE signed a $100 billion agreement in financing, investment, and other support and to deploy globally 100 gigawatts of clean energy by 2035 to advance the energy transition and maximize climate benefits.
COP28 Presidency
UAE will round off this year with hosting the prestigious COP28 UAE, which will take place at Expo City Dubai from November 30th to December 12th 2023. The Conference is expected to convene over 70,000 participants, including heads of state, government officials, international industry leaders, private sector representatives, academics, experts, youth, and non-state actors.
