UAE’s leading integrated environmental, recycling & waste management company, Bee’ah wins three contracts for waste management services in Madinah covering the North, West, and East regions.

The award-winning leader of sustainability in the Middle East is expanding into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in support of Saudi Vision 2030.

According to the contract with the Municipality of Madinah, Bee’ah services will be provided for 70% of the city, serving a population of 1.2 million residents. Bee’ah will provide facilities for collecting and transporting solid waste. Further, it will also disinfect and sanitize garbage bins.

The operations will use about 350 pieces of heavy equipment along with 3,000 workers, including waste collection units, trucks and street sweepers. Bee’ah will also host workshops, training sessions and awareness campaigns.

Bee’ah will deploy its end-to-end waste management solutions focused on the twin pillars of sustainability and digitization as the first fully integrated environmental management company in the region. The goal is to include a detailed waste management road map, helping to turn Madinah into a future sustainable city.

Bee’ah ‘s efforts complement Saudi Arabia’s Sustainable Development Vision 2030 objectives which include increasing recycling levels to 85%. Securing the Madinah contracts is therefore a notable achievement for the company, as the estimated population of the north, east and west districts, where Bee’ah will start operations, is projected to rise from a current 1.2 million by 2024 to 1.46 million.

Bee’ah is awarded the contract with Madinah to work towards a sustainable future as it is closing on its zero waste goal in Sharjah. Bee’ah is also constructing the first waste-to-energy plant in the UAE in a joint venture project with Masdar, having already reached the highest waste-to – energy diversion rate of 76% in Sharjah. The Emirate will hit 100% waste diversion from landfills once the project is completed in 2021.

Bee’ah currently serves the Sharjah Emirate, areas of Abu Dhabi, and some of the prominent Dubai entities such as the Emirates Group, Dubai Airports, Dubai World Trade Center and Burj Khalifa. This year the organization is setting new milestones for green and sustainable buildings with the opening of its new Headquarters.
