The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) has announced the date for the second edition of the Abu Dhabi Smart City Summit (ADSCS), which will take place at the Conrad Abu Dhabi – Etihad Towers on November 23rd and 24th, 2021.
The region’s largest smart city development event provides a forum for dialogue, bringing together experts, government officials, leaders, strategists, and decision-makers, as well as government and private organizations, to discuss best practices for developing smart cities and addressing challenges.
DMT is in charge of the summit which is being organized in line with its strategic plan and the UAE’s Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031, which symbolizes the country’s future services, sectors, and infrastructure. The summit enables participants to expand their knowledge and establish action plans that will lead to smarter solutions.
It will develop frameworks and support ambitious plans for smart cities in the emirate, as well as overview the latest technological developments and innovations from the public and private sectors, and ensure the availability of world-class infrastructure capable of supporting investments in modern technologies in roads, parks, recreational, and infrastructure projects.
“In this year’s edition of ADSCS, we will strive to engage more experts and minds that will be part of the next step, to establish a clear framework that ensures livability within cities and makes them more flexible, and therefore faster to respond to challenges and provide local skills, community institutions and the latest technologies to support sustainable economic development,” said Mr. Omar Ibrahim Al Nuaimi, Director-General of Institutional Affairs at the Department of Municipalities and Transport.
The First Edition of the Abu Dhabi Smart City Summit in 2019 was a huge success with the support and supervision of Abu Dhabi’s leadership. Over 1,000 people attended the sessions, including 60 distinguished guests, 100 executives and decision-makers, and 50 visionary expert speakers who play a key role in shaping the future of smart cities.
According to the organizing committee, the second edition will be held to the highest standards and under sanitized conditions to ensure the safety of all participants. It will strengthen cross-sector collaboration and emphasize the importance of key players in the smart city and artificial intelligence sectors focusing on innovation.
