SalamAir adds new route to its growing network of destinations

SalamAir, Oman’s fastest-growing low-cost carrier, has announced the addition of Chennai, India, as the latest addition to its extensive destination network.

According to the statement, SalamAir, starting July 11th, 2024, will operate two weekly flights to Chennai every Thursday and Saturday, offering convenient connections and exceptional service between Muscat and this vibrant South Indian city.

The inclusion of Chennai marks a notable achievement for SalamAir, furthering its goal to bolster links not only between India and Muscat but across the broader region. Chennai now becomes part of a list that includes other recently added cities such as Delhi, Cairo, Islamabad, and Lahore.

Harish Kutty, Director of Revenue and Network Planning for SalamAir, said that, “We are thrilled to introduce our new service to Chennai, a significant milestone that enhances the connectivity of the South Indian community in Oman and the wider Gulf region.”

With its rich cultural heritage and economic vitality, Chennai presents immense opportunities for residents, business, and leisure travelers, Harish Kutty further added.

The budget airline said in a statement that travelers can anticipate enjoying SalamAir’s acclaimed service and modern aircraft fleet on their journey to Chennai, ensuring a pleasant and memorable experience.

This new route is expected to enhance connections between Oman and India, providing more travel options for the expat community, leisure travelers, and business professionals, as well as supporting cultural exchange and fostering economic collaboration.
