The General Administration of Abu Dhabi Customs has won three prestigious awards at the “GovMedia” Conference 2024 in Singapore, which showcases outstanding government projects and initiatives across Asia.
Abu Dhabi Customs’ win came in recognition of its pioneering efforts in launching innovative projects, adopting sustainable solutions, and utilizing cutting-edge technology to enhance the customs work system and foster a culture of excellence and creativity.
In detail, Abu Dhabi Customs received the “Campaign of the Year” award for applying the best international practices and standards during the launch of its corporate identity and new logo, which comes in the form of a trade gateway connecting Abu Dhabi to the world by air, land, and sea, and acting as a hub for global trade.
The logo’s design reflects simplicity, modernity, and innovation, featuring a dark green color to denote sustainability in adopting innovative solutions to improve services and customs procedures through advanced technology, in line with the directives of the visionary leadership and government’s directions in achieving sustainable development and resource conservation.
Abu Dhabi Customs also won the “Digital Initiative of the Year Award – Customs category” for its smart inspection system, which conducts customs inspections without the need for the customer to be present, using augmented reality glasses to connect the customer with the inspector and monitor the inspection process. The system broadcasts and archives the entire inspection process, facilitating procedures, speeding up inspections, and providing excellent customer service by reducing time and effort.
Furthermore, Abu Dhabi Customs received the “Disaster Management of the Year Award – Customs category” for its IT Disaster Management initiative, which relies on advanced technology and precise planning to enable a smooth automated transition between main data centers and disaster recovery centers, ensuring no data loss and enhancing data reliability, security, and continuity of customs operations.
